M.I.A. on War Crimes and French Fries - New Track 'I'm A Singer (Haters)'

M.I.A. has her own way to respond to the critique that has been aimed at her after Lynn Hirschberg's interesting but almost TLDR-piece in the NYT was published. She has now published her own truth up on the N.E.E.T-blog, go read and listen to soundbits from that infamous interview, over here.

Most important part of the post is actually that she also graced the world with a new track addressing the haters, called 'I'm A Singer' which majorly samples 'Hater' by Various Productions.

Say what you want but at least one good thing sprung out of that NYT-feature, these amazing photos shot by Ryan McGinley:

Review: Dizzee Rascal - "Tongue N' Cheek" (Dirtee Deluxe Edition) | ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ X

Dirtee Deluxe is the name of the re-release of Dizzee Rascal's fourth and latest album "Tongue N' Cheek". A 2-disc edition released today to celebrate the album gone platinum. This review only concerns the second bonus disc, for the original review, please check here.

First out is Dizzee's latest single, the huge bowl of awful hot groovy disco mess: 'Dirtee Disco' which samples Staple Singers' 'I'll Take You There' from 1972 and features Daniel Pearce. Yesterday it debuted on the UK Singles Chart at number one just as predicted, marking Dizzee's forth number one hit in the country.

But after them 03:58 minutes of sheer pain, things starting to clear up. Now follos four other brand new productions: 'Doin' It Big', 'Nuffin Long', 'Marks Out Of 10' and 'Heavy' produced with Chase & Status.

'Nuffin Long' is a entertaining little no-brainer about casual sex of the type where 'long' rhymes with 'thong' and feels like the second act of 'Freaky Freaky'. Even if the lyrics are quite juvenile and played out like the American Pie-movies, it's quite catchy and the production is really enjoyable.

But I must say, I'm glad that these 10 additional tracks are not making their way out there on their own as a new album, because quite frankly they are more of an elongation of the previous released 11.

'Marks Outta Ten' follows in the same line as 'Nuffin Long', one night stand-business on a darker funky/house-tune. I reckon it actually has some hit single potential, if 'Dirtee Disco' can nab the number one spot, so can this.

Then we have the best track of them all, the one I hope Dizzee can re-focus his further work from, 'Heavy' with Chase & Status. Seriously, 'Heavy' is the biggest tune Dizzee has spat on for ages. Far from sordid disco, house and all other shit Dizzee has been dipping his shit in these past years. I used to be a firm beliver that Dizzee could do anything, and well, he can, but now he should go back to grime and heavy basslines. Period. Just look how well the internet massive respond when the radio rip leaked, the streets of 1's and 0's went bat shit crazy, compared to the zero to none anticipation on 'Dirtee Disco'...

Then as the last offer of the new tunes Dizzee and Newham generals jumps on a Major Lazer-ish train on 'Doin' It Big' and well, I got nothing to complain about.

After follows a set of live recordings, starting with 'You Got the Dirtee Love' featuring Florence and The Machine, a tune that came together during the 2010 BRIT Awards and the live recording peaked at number 2 on the singles chart.

Followed by two recordings from BBC Electric Proms 2009 together with the English Heritage Orchestra of one of my fave love/hate Dizzee tunes of all time, 'Fix Up, Look Sharp' as well as a very beautiful and intricate performance of 'Brand New Day', originally from his grimey debut album "Boy in da Corner".

Finishing off this bonus disc are two remixes of the no. 1 hits 'Bonkers' and 'Holiday' signed Doorly and Laidback Luke. Doorly kills everything he lays his hands on, he even makes 'Bonkers' sound good.

Yeah, that's that.... Back in September of 2009 I gave "Tongue N' Cheek" 4 hearts out of 5. Today I'd only give it 3 but with this second disc it actually deserves all four. The last one single handled earned by 'Heavy'. Hopefully Dizzee's done with house and disco and bad dance music, he left those grime roots behind in favour for, it's time to go back, back to them heavy basslines and spitting fire. I cross my fingers, cause even if Dizzee's razor-sharp lyrical ability and wit remain at the core of his sound, this dance routine is getting old and tired.

Buy "Tongue N' Cheek" (Dirtee Deluxe Edition) off iTunes, Amazon or Play to name a few.

'Power' The First Single off KanYe West's Upcoming Album "Good Ass Job"

I must say, for the first time ever I actually looking forward to a new album from KanYe West. Prior "808s & Heartbreak" I hated the poor sod but that album was so amazing and made me turn around completely and the whole "Imma Let You Finish"-gate was just sprinkles on top of the great KanYeezy-cake.

The current working title for the album which is due for a release in September is "Good Ass Job" and here's the first single, called 'Power' featuring Dwele. Cop the single the 8th of June.

Nicki Minaj Sneak Peeks: Lil Wayne's 'Knockout' Video & Vibe Cover

First a short sneak peek of the official video for one of my guilty pleasures at the moment, the latest single off Lil Wayne's horrible excursion through rock rap: 'Knockout' ft. Nicki Minaj. The video is directed by David Rousseau and is expected to premier this weekend along with other singles off "Rebirth" including 'Da Da Da', 'Runnin' ft. Shanell & 'Get a Life':

Also, Nicki Minaj will grace the cover of the June/July issue of Vibe Magazine and the shoot seems to have the same plot as the one she did for Right On! Magazine back in March: Barbie Playhouse. Here's just an outtake as a teaser, not the actual cover but just as the one for Right On! I reckon this will be amazing:

Here's the much talked about Boys Noize produced track (and the latest single) from Kano's upcoming fourth album "Method to the Maadness", featuring Aidonia and Wiley. And yeah, I actually kinda like it, getting huge Major Lazer vibes over here:

"Method To The Maadness" is scheduled for a 30th August release on Bigger Picture Music and will feature collabos from Chase & Status, Damon Albarn, Hot Chip among others.

Listen to the proper version without the most annoying man on earth aka. Tim Westwood:

Rihanna - 'Rockstar 101' Official Video & Chew Fu's "Rated R Remixed"

Rihanna is back to black everything in the official video for 'Rockstar 101', with Slash playing the role as the rockstar alibi. I kinda like this video thou, Melina Matsoukas is a visual genius:

And today, May 25th, to hold off fans until the release of RiRi's next album, Island/Def Jam is releasing "Rated R Remixed", a collection of ten of the original album’s tracks reworked by the New York-based, producer, DJ and serial fixer Chew Fu:

Drake ft. Lil Wayne - 'Miss Me' - Third Single off "Thank Me Later" (Dirty)

UHDN has liberated many tracks off Drake's upcoming debut album "Thank Me Later". Yesterday it was the Young Jeezy collabo 'Unforgettable', produced by Boi-1da and 40 that saw the light of day, unmixed but still, not my fave track even if the Aaliyah-sample was cute. But I really feel today's offer, the clean version of the next single off the album: 'Miss Me' featuring Lil Wayne, also produced by Boi-1da and 40.

Everyone seems to have hated them single covers for 'Over' and 'Find Your Love', I actually reckon they were quite decent if we compare them to this graphic vomit:

Cop 'Miss Me' the 1st of June. "Thank Me Later" the 15th.

Update: Drake just updated with the mastered, dirty version! Whoop!
