KiD CuDi ft. KanYe West - 'Erase Me' off "Man On The Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager"

G.O.O.D. Music will have an hell of a music day the 14th of September with albums dropping from KanYe West, Big Sean, Consequence and the most anticipated, at least in my book, KiD CuDi's sophomore album "Man On The Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager".

Yesterday this new track together with KanYe was played yesterday over at the Cleveland’s 96.5 Kiss FM. And also during my no internetz-time, Cudder himself leaked the Plain pat-produced 'REVOFEV' which stands for revolution of the evolution and also, last but not least a live version of 'Mr. Rager' made it's way online.

New M.I.A. - 'Teqkilla' off "/\/\/\Y/\"

Yes, here's a brand new track from M.I.A. called 'Teqkilla', written by her self, Christopher Mercer, Dave Taylor, John Hill & Cherry Byron-Withers. Sadly, not my fave track to be honest, it's a bit too annoying, like the "I got sticky sticky ikky ikky wiiiid"-part, like a vuvuzela, seriously I'm hearing vuvuzelas in my sleep now.

Still loving the some what cheesy and retro Internetz-cover thou:

"/\/\/\Y/\" will be in stores the 13th of July and one month after M.I.A. will grace Sweden and Gothenburg with a visit, can't wait!

DJ Khaled ft. Rick Ross, Busta Rhymes, Diddy, Nicki Minaj, Fabolous, Jadakiss, Fat Joe, Swizz Beatz & T-Pain - 'All I Do Is Win' Official Remix Video

"I told Khaled you the best, but I'm the bestest". Boom, there's a damn reason Nicki Minaj won the best female rapper of the year award yesterday and not Lil Kim. Nicki totally DOMINATES! So sad that no Swedish bookers have learnt it yet. TOO sad. How hard can it be? Please, i beg you all, stop book stupid, boring and uninteresting headnod guys every single time you book something big. Thank you. Here's the official video for Dj Khaled's huge 'All I Do Is Win' remix featuring Rick Ross, Busta Rhymes, Diddy, Nicki Minaj, Fabolous, Jadakiss, Fat Joe, Swizz Beatz & T-Pain, directed by Gil Green:

While I'm on Nicki, here's Champion Squad's remix of her latest single 'Your Love' featuring Vybz Kartel:

Sidney Samson ft. Twista - 'Shake That Thing (Riverside)' New Official Video

Sidney Samson's debut single 'Shake That Thng' also called 'Riverside' got sooo much better when Twista jumped on board, cause quite frankly how interesting is a sample of Tupac in Juice saying, "Riverside, mothafucka" anyway?

Now, here's the brand new official video, just premiered by NY Mag's Vulture, featuring Twista and also a cameo by Rye Rye:

Also, speaking of Twista, I know I know J. Valentine's 'Ass N Titties' sounds just like a worse version of T-Pain's 'I'm In Luv With a Stripper' but I can't help it, this tune is now etched on my brain... eyeeh eeyyeeeeh.

Jeezy ft. Drake - 'Lose My Mind' Remix

Enjoying the perks of having proper Internetz again came with an ugly backside, learnt that Drake has cancelled the first part of his European tour and thereby has cancelled his show at the Roskilde festival later this week. Drake who won the best male hip hop-artist award (Nicki Minaj won the best female) at last nights BET Awards was the main act I was looking forward to, I was so thrilled to see how he would treat the ladies overseas, and yesterday's nights performance at the BET's just made his cancellation even more disappointing.

Just watch, here's 'Fireworks', 'Over' and the premiere of the remix to Jeezy's 'Lose My Mind', simply replacing Plies with Drake:

Young Jeezy's upcoming fourth album "Thug Motivation 103" is expected to drop later this year.

BET Awards 2010 Recap and Live Performances

I dunno, but I thought yesterdays night BET 2010 Awards was a bit appalling. Why? Chris Brown's Michael Jackson tribute for starters. Like okay, by know you all know that I have some difficulties with Chris Breezy since the whole Rihanna-affair. Last year Chris Brown was banned from the show, this year, one year later he was invited to do that MJ-tribute:

He got so emotional that he cried at the end of the performance. Or, well, like every 5 year old, Chris can manage to pull some good old crocodile tears off. Unlike almost everyone else I don't think he was amazing, that he has redeemed himself. He's still a fucking idiot. Mad talented, boy sure can dance, but does talent overcome his obviously fucked up brain and manners? No, I don't think so. What will happen next year? Alex da Silva and Shane Sparks gets invited to do some choreography for a young girls routine? White supremacy groups will get invited just cause they are skilled doing music?! I know the last one was a bit far but you get my point.

But well, this faux pas aside, yesterday night brought some real talent to the stage, here are some of the highlights, KanYe West opened with 'Power':

T.I. performed '(Takers)' from his upcoming movie with the same name:

Eminem, B.O.B & Keyshia Cole performed 'Airplanes Part 2' and 'Not Afraid':

Rick Ross and Nicki Minaj joined in for the remix of Dirty Money's and T.I.'s 'Hello, Good Morning':

Ludacris, Nicki Minaj, Busta Rhymes, Rick Ross & DJ Khaled shut it all down with 'My Chick Bad' and the 'All I Do Is Win' Remix:

Props to Yardie for the uploads.

Ironik's Back! New Single 'Slow Down' Gets the Maximus/Baxter Treatment

It was quite a long time since we heard something from DJ Ironik, well his second album "Music Legend" is expected to drop later this summer and the first offering from it is called 'Slow Down'. Here in two different remixes by Maximus/Baxter, who follow up from their remix of Kelis' 'Acapella' that you all seemed to love. And listen to this, earlier this week I was actually enjoying the 'Acapella' original, guess it's well suited for a piece on So You Think You Can Dance.

Maximus/Baxter have more exiting things in the pipeline, first 'Your Names Not Down (The Bouncer)' by grime artist Faction G (produced by Jon Doe of Maximus/Baxter, due for release July, which will include Maximus/Baxter remixes) as well as Gavin & Jon are putting the finishing touches to their new mixtape and EP, which are both coming out this Summer.

Gnucci Banana & Spoek Mathambo ft. Schlachthofbronx & Mash Up International! Live @ Love Stockholm 14th of June 2010

I'm so fucking glad that Ana decided to pick up the mic and transcend into Gnucci Banana, flippin' hell, she's born to be on stage! Here's (finally after like 14 days of an Internet connection with constant speed of 2/kpbs) some footage I shot when she and her hubby Spoek Mathambo performed together with Schlachthofbronx and Uppsala's club pride and joy Mash Up International! during Love Stockholm (a 14 day long mini-festival thrown together by the city of Stockholm over at Strömparterren, in front of the royal castle to celebrate the royal marriage between Crown Princess Victoria and the man of the people Daniel Westling. A great initiative with super good bookings, weather you're pro or con the monarchy) the 14th of June.

Mind you, this is like Ana's and Spoek's SECOND live performance together like this, totally outstanding, the rest of Sweden better shape up, cause this is on some whole other level.

First up we have 'Hugh (Iggy Iggy)' & 'Linyora', second 'Doo Doo Dance', third Gnucci Banana and Mash Up International! perform their remix of Miike Snow's 'Animal' and last but not least 'Ayoba' and 'Too High' featuring the German party machine Schlachthofbronx:

You want more right? Dunno if I'm spoiling a big secret right now, (if I do, I'm so sorry) but you can catch them live together with Schlachthofbronx over at the Roskilde Festival this coming Saturday night (the 3rd of July) 00:15 at the Cosmopol-stage. I'll definitely be there, even if it's the same time as Robyn hits the Arena-stage (who's the nitwit that set the band schedule?!) and if you were down in Denmark during the Distortion festival a couple of weeks back, you know you're in for a real treat.

Donnis - "Fashionably Late" Mixtape

Yes, I'm #BiB, hopefully, my Internet connection is like a dial up anno 1997 without all the fun blinks, bleeps and sounds. This is the first time I even can access the site in like a week, mobile Internet via a usb-stick might be a good idea in theory, but in real life, when your closest neighbours are the woods and a lake, no. But hold tight, proper Internet is on it's way.

Nuff about my technical downfall, here it is, finally, Donnis' LONG awaited and much overdue mixtape "Fashionably Late", a collection of everything that has happened since "Diary of an ATL Brave":

M.I.A. - 'Steppin' Up' & Jay-Z Jumps on The 'XXXO' Train

Sorry for the sucky writing game and no show these past days, I've been too busy putting clothes and shoes into the right boxes as I'm moving back to Stockholm today, after 5 years in exile. So this is the last morning I'm waking up in Hultsfred, hopefully for a very, very long time. Too stoked to be honest.

Let the title of this new M.I.A. leak (which was premiered/streamed on Zane Lowe’s Radio 1 show) guide you of what's in store for First Up!. Yes, I'm gonna step my cookies up.

Lady GaGa - 'Alejandro' Official Video

Lady GaGa's making history with 'Alejandro', the latest single to be released off her "The Fame Monster"-album making it the only album in history to deliver seven worldwide Top 10 hits! She sweeps Michael Jackson's "Thriller" (that contained six songs that reached Top 10 on the chart) right off the floor.

Here's the official 8:44 minutes video for 'Alejandro', not the sequel to the 'Telephone'-video, instead it has more of a homoerotic military theme to it, directed by photographer Steven Klein:

Also, in other news T.I. has nabbed GaGa for a feature on his upcoming album "King Uncaged", the tracks is called 'Lick It' and is produced by none other than RedOne. Am I stoked? Yes.

The Remix EP of 'Alejandro' is out now, go cop it.

Sean Kingston Teams Up with Nicki Minaj For Some 'Dutty Dutty'

First Up! will be back in full force tomorrow, but 'til then, here's the latest in line of many tracks Nicki Minaj has graced with her presence: Sean Kingston's 'Letting Go (Dutty Dutty)'. Nicki has also during the weekend been called out by the Queen Bee, peep here, here and here.

'Letting Go (Dutty Dutty)' is nothing complicated really, very very radio friendly and well, there's no summer without an annoying Sean Kingston tune on the radio right?

Also, speaking of gracing, here's the official version of Nicki Minaj's Vibe cover, in true Harajuku Barbie fashion:

Nicki Minaj's Second Solo Single 'Your Love' Released Today

Yes, 'Your Love' Nicki Minaj's second solo single off her forthcoming debut album was released today, a track that still grows good on me. I dunno, I never was a fan of Annie Lennox in my youth but this sample of 'No More I Love You's' on the production by Papa Justifi (of the Knightwritaz) is so great.

It showcase Nicki's huge ability to do pretty much anything, it has no psycho-references or any of her animated rap-screams to it, no, instead it's a full on sweet love song, perfect for this time of year between blooming bird cherry and lilacs.

The single comes with two different covers, the one on iTunes is a cartoon version made by a fan (named Asia Horton, Nicki tweeted about the picture a while back), buy here and peep a remix with Flo'Rida jumping on board below.

Review: Uffie - "Sex Dreams and Denim Jeans" | ♥ ♥ ♥ X X

Uffie's long awaited and much overdue debut album was supposed to finally drop yesterday, but now it seems like the digital release has been postponed yet another time, iTunes sets the new date to the 14th of June. However, this is a release I was really looking forward to back in 2006 when Uffie became that MySpace phenomenon alongside Lily Allen and when 'Pop The Glock' was something fresh. But now, 4 years later, after several delays from mid 2007 to early 2008 to a wage future-release my excitement has cooled down to the level of not even lukewarm.

But even if "Sex Dreams and Denim Jeans" feels a bit dated, sort of stuck in 2006-2007 prior Uffie's marriage/baby/divorce I must say, it's a positive encounter. Way better than I first expected it to be. It feels like one of these OST's from your favourite high school movie, esp. the title track 'Sex Dreams and Denim Jeans' produced by Mirwais with the nice sample of The Velvet Underground's 'Rock & Roll'.

One track that made me jump of joy was 'Give It Away', mostly cause of the production signed Feadz & J-Mat. If feels like Julie Ruin stepped out of her closet, polished up her sound and recorded her songs properly. Another one that made it's way to my heart is 'Difficult' produced by SebastiAn, it's so all over the place I just have to love it. But I can't help missing tracks like 'Hot Chick', esp. since the whole "Suited and Looted" EP made it's way to the album, like 'Brand New Car' where Uffie completely baits Tigra and Bunny's rap style from 'Cars With The Boom' like the true Miami native she is.

Out of 15 tracks only two contain featured artists, one of them is the second single 'ADD SUV' featuring Pharrell Williams. The other is 'Illusion of Love' featuring Mattie Safer from The Rapture, and instead of rapping Uffie actually tries to sing. Not my fave song off the album for sure.

Even if most tracks have several years on their necks and retrospective trips like the remake of Siouxsie and the Banshees's now 30 year old 'Hong Kong Garden' (nice homage by Uffie since she and her parents moved to Hong Kong when she was five and lived there for almost 10 years), "Sex Dreams and Denim Jeans" manages to feel quite up to date. Sure, it's definitely not running for the album of the year nor the debut album of the year but it's a solid debut, even if it's released at least 3 years too late, Uffie will now have to compete with Ke$ha for the electro/rap-princess title, which she would have owned the throne for if "Sex Dreams and Denim Jeans" had been released when it was supposed to.

I only rate it as a three because "Sex Dreams and Denim Jeans" is not a very long-lasting album as a whole, it's not something you'll pick up in 7 months and think, wow, TOO GOOD, it's more like a cheap gum that looses it's flavour rather quickly. It has three sustainable and essential tracks: 'Pop The Glock', 'Hong Kong Garden' and 'ADD SUV'. It comes with good productions from the French elite (with Mirwais shining the brightest) and nice pop tunes but it will not cause those headlines Uffie was given back in 2006. Ke$ha got them instead when "Animal" was released in the beginning of this year, hey she even got an own intro-piece to the Simpsons (a.k.a the best intro ever).

That said, buy the album off iTunes or over at Amazon and get ready to Uff at least throughout the Summer!
