Dizzee Rascal & Dirtee Stank Presents: Smurfie Syco

If ur following Diretee Stank on YouTube I'm sure u haven't missed all those "Smurfie Syco 300 bars"-clips, and esp. the latest and the final clip of the series, "Dizzee's Greatest Hit List".

Smurfie Syco is the latest addition the Dizzee Rascal's Dirtee Stank family and according to Dizzee the next bright prospect of grime. Hailing from North London, Smurfie is set to take over the grime scene starting off with his debut mixtape, "SmurfieSyco.com" which is released today is hosted and mixed by Dirtee Stank's legendary DJ Semtex.

Haven't heard anything off the mixtape yet but the collaborations 'This Way', 'Hustler' & 'Klappin' with Dizzee should be good. I'm not that sure off this track called 'So Special' thou, from the upcoming album which is set to be released ibn 2010. The track is produced by Guy Christo (Daft Punk) and nah, I'm not feeling it. I don't think the future in grime lie in Daft Punk-ish productions to be honest...

U can order the mixtape "SmurfieSyco.com" over here.

Maluca - 'El Tigeraso' (Off. Video) & Remixes

Maluca, who recently was named as one of the URB's Digital Edition 25:NOW! artists is one hella breath of fresh air.

Ever since it's release last spring 'El Tigeraso' manages to be on my daily playlist, it's just pure magic. Soooo, I've been waiting for this video since it premiered at the special night Maluca throw at Nature History Museum in New York along with the dinosaurs and a whole lot of other (real) people some weeks ago.

Without further due, here it is, directed by Lazlo, 'El Tigeraso' among hair curlers and a lot of familiar faces:

Also here's two great remixes I've stacked up for this post, first up Gumar's Magic Mix, a bit low key and second a more flipped out one from Sonora.

Review: Lady GaGa - "The Fame Monster" | ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Sometimes I 'm kinda slow to embrace things, I know. Sometimes I'm just too jugdemental for my own good. Lady GaGa was one of those artists I dismissed as way too radio friendly and icky/strange for my taste. It actually took me to last September and the release of 'Poker Face' until I understood her true power.

The power of beging the new Madonna. The new Queen of Pop?! Yeah, big words, but let me explain. Lady GaGa embodies all of Madonna, just that she comes in another package. A package of a 23 year old Italian/American. Cause not since the days of Madonna's peak we have experienced a pop star with that shine, to have an impact on a whole world. Sure wh had Britney but honestly, Britney never was int he running for Madonna's throne. Lady GaGa own is. Her name is alreasdy carved into the back of it, with GaGa was here. cause I donät think GaGa's journey will end as the queen of Pop, she's fulluy capable of embracing the whole world of music.

She's already came way deeper into the hiphop scene then Madonna has ever been, that Lil Wayne collabo included. GaGa is also a bit smarter. Madonns did her whole sex-thing which I loved back in the day but GaGa does it without putting all fleshy bits out there. Or well, we have that hermaphrodite-thingee hanging around like the big pink elephant in the room. A rumour that started from a very bad resultion YouTube-clip of GaGa in a red

Jennifer Lopez - 'Fresh Out The Oven', 'Louboutins' & "Love?"

So, Jennifer Lopez kids is out the oven and J.Lo is ready to lay the world under her feet again, or? Sorry Jennifer but this first (promo) single from ur upcoming album "Love?" (which drops in March next Year) produced by The Neptunes feels everything but fresh out the oven... Despite the sexy Eyes Wide Shut them for the video directed by Jonas Akerlund and the fact that u still have one of the greatest asses ever.

Let's begin with jumping on the alter-ego bandwagon, to becoming of Lola. Like why? Feels like something to do just because Beyoncé, Ciara and them other lot doing it. Then Pitbull's addition to the song, nothing freshly baked about that either, feel like petty mish mash of old Pitbull songs...

But let's throw 'Fresh Out The Oven' out the window and concentrate on the first official single from the album instead. Produced by Tricky Stewart and The-Dream called 'Louboutins'. There we have a great single and no Lola in sight. It's not rocket science and will have all the fashionistas of the world doing Beyoncé's to the left in their red soled shoes.

Wiley ft. Chew Fu 'Take That' (Off. Video) & Chew Fu Remixes

Hmm. Can't decide what's more of a no-brainer, 'Wearing My Rolex' or 'Take That'? Matter of fact is, I got no words left for post grime detours like this. We all know by now that I'm kinda... fed up. But the great mass seems to like and buy it so well, guess all good in the hood as long as Wiley gets money in his pocket...

However, 'Take That' will be out the 28th of December and if u long for grime, well, there's a new Roll Deep album in the making, and the first single off that called 'Good Times' will be out the 1st of February.

In the meantime, if u like Wiley on house, or not for that matter, even I smiled by hearing this lil' tune that's been hiding in my inbox for a while, Wiley teams up with the British house duo Riton and Primary 1 on 'Who's There'. Wiley liked the original (released on Erol Alkan's Phantasy Sound label) so much he wanted to add to it...

Also, as it's Friday, some new remixes Chew Fu sent over. First the official Chew Fu fix of the first single release from Timbaland's forthcoming album featuring SoShy 'Morning After Dark' and second, one for Amanda Blank's latest single 'Shame On Me'.

Jammer, Toddla T, Ghosttown, Badness, Dajla & Twist It!

Time for a little underground producer special up in here!

First up: Jammer ft. Toddla T. To say that I loved 'Party Animal' with my full body, heart and soul would be to tell a big fat lie. I like the production by Toddla, good energy and works well to dance to, not that crazy bout the girl thou. No no no. Her voice annoys the hell outta me.

But with remixes coming from Skepta and Hardhouse Banton, this is just the first small step which will lead up to the release of Jammer's debut album on Big Dada in May 2010. And Jammer is capable of big things as he is one of the best producers and most charismatic characters in the grime scene so there's still hope.

Here's the official video by up-and-coming director Jay K:

Featured that remix pack for the team up Jammer did with Badness on Silverlink's 'The Message Is Love' some time ago, which also lead us into the second producer: Ghosttown and the first Senseless release for 2010, a wonky dancehall smasher called 'You Know'.

Simon Booth aka Ghosttown has spent the last few years obscured, half out of sight as a producer hiring out his futuristic beat-science to a string of heavy hitting MCs including Foreign Beggars and Skrein and a clutch of artists across the Atlantic including Guilty Simpson, Oh No, Frank and Dank and Dudley Perkins from the Dilla/Stones Throw axis of the hip hop spectrum.

His debut release started life like most of his productions, on a beat tape with another 80 or so one minute tracks, all vital snapshots charged with the excitement of what might happen with the right MC but there was something special about the original 'Greezy'-riddim. It wires up squelching formant synths to insistent, minimal drumssounding like a 2010 UK-bass update to Ginuwine's 'Pony' but at 145 BPM with speaker damaging sub.

This devastating but unusual collision of sounds needed a versatile MC and Badness was top of the list. Known for his early work with Lava Unit and Terror Danjah as well as 'The Message is Love' Birmingham born Badness' star is on the rise. 'You Know' as the track became features his signature double time bashment/grime flow and a killer hook sung by cosmic-soul powerhouse Dajla. The Parisian born singer is a Radio Nova favourite who has collaborated with Wax Tailor, Foreign Beggars and celebrated hip hop poet Anthony Joseph. The release comes with mixes from DZ, Numan, Cracks (which is the heater u can enjoy below) and Murlo.

Senseless will also release a Ghosttown album in the summer of 2010 featuring vocalists including Frank & Dank, Olivier Daysoul, Badness, YT, Navigator, Killa P and more. 2010 is the year the Ghost comes to life.

And last but nort least, Jammer is not the only funky monkey, here's the another, come to live from the young Belgian DJ/producer Twist It! and it's time to get ur tribal break on peeps!

Consequence - 'Whatever U Want' (G.O.O.D. Music Remix)

How much good music can u cramp into one week? ALOT apparently, and we're just barley half through!

It's time for the huge remix of Consequence's first single of the "Cons TV" album. Featuring all good G.O.O.D-music artists there is: KanYe West, John Legend, Common, KiD CuDi & Big Sean.

All hype aside, I'm not crazy over the overly rinsed "Put ur hand in the air"-shit and it's not the best remix of all time but I wouldn't be surprised if it made it's way up on some "Best Remixes of the Year"-lists when that time comes around in some weeks. While I'm on the subject, one guy who's gonna top at least one of my round up-lists of 2009 is KiD CuDi, who's currently busy working on the official video of one, if no the best tracks of 2009: 'Pursuit of Happiness', the third official single of possible best album of the year "Man on the Moon: The End of Day". The video, directed by Megaforce (same creative team who did 'Day N' Nite' with So.Me & KanYe's 'Good Life'), is expected to drop in the near future.

The track made it's world wide premiere about an hour ago at DJ Envy's show on Hot.97, here's the proper version and not the shitty raio rip that's floating around. Props to OnSmash!

Rihanna's Nokia "Rated R" Launch Party (37 min. Video)

No matter how good Chris Brown might dance (peep Breezy taking on 'Pon De Floor' for example) and Rihanna's way down the black hole, I'm #TeamRiRi all day, every day.

Beyoncé ft. Lady GaGa - 'Video Phone' (Off. Remix Video)

Yes, here it is people, the official extended remix video of Beyoncé's latest single 'Video Phone' featuring Lady GaGa that has been hyped up as the video of the year.

The question is, is the world ready to go more GaGa than it's already is since "The Fame Monster" leaked yesterday? Regarding the leak btw, please don't post dl-links to the album here, if u do, I'll keep removing them. Thank u.

The video is directed by Hype Williams and it's so nyce to see him make up for all shitty videos he's been doing lately, this one is great and Beyoncé really should try to get her Bettie Page on more often, she looks looks absolutely stunning in that type of bangs. Well, well let the battle of the leotards begin:

But truth be told, I prefer Lady GaGa as her old flipped out self, not like this out of her usual style taking on her "Gee-yoncé" persona. This extended remix will appear on the deluxe edition of "I Am ... Sasha Fierce", which hits stores November 23rd, the same day as "The Fame Monster".

Here's also another great remix of GaGa's latest single 'Bad Romance' that got the approval from Interscope records but they had too many official remixes done for the track already.

Review: Kid Sister - "Ultraviolet" | ♥ ♥ ♥ X X

Today's the day when all nail technicians in the world should head out of the beauty parlor and peep by the nearest record shop to buy an album. That album I have in mind is Melisa Young's aka. Kid Sister's long awaited debut "Ultraviolet" released today on Fool's Gold / Downtown Records. Can't think of a better way to show reciprocity actually, cause not since the days of the sprinter Florence "Flo Jo" Griffith-Joyner, someone have had that form of impact on women all over to start pay attention to their nails and getting flipped nail designs did.

And I love Kid Sister for that, I love that she feels like the big sister to FannyPack's Cat, Jessibell and Belinda that moved to Chicago and started her own sound. I love that she raps about womanly attributes in a way that's not just the old pussy/cock-rant, it makes up for the fact that this debut is awfully late.

The album was originally set to come out under the guise "Dream Date" last spring but as we all know it didn't and last year the great hype that was built up in 2007 (when she released her EP "Control" and after 'Pro Nails' got added with KanYe and Kid Sister featured on The Count & Sinden's mega hit 'Beeper') actually was starting to wear off on me. The release of that dreary 'Family Affair' featuring David Banner on RCRDLBL didn't help much either. Thank God that sauce-fest is cut out from the album.

Cause this polished up version with 3 tracks cut and 5 new now under the name "Ultraviolet" is everything but dull, quite the contrary. It has that typical Chi-town vibe to it, funz, party and juke. But it also offers some other unexpected treats. Goodies like the dupsteppy 'Step' featuring Estelle, produced by master Rusko. Or the fact that Hervé & Sinden manage to find a fresh way to revival and rework a huge track from the '90's I danced my ass off to in 'Big N Bad' (anyone, what's the name of the track, my mind doesn't work with me today) or a nyce take on disco glitz in '54321' produced by XXXChange.

But of course the album also offers some downers. Like the Yuksek-produced 'Life on TV', the track just floats me by, getting flashback to "Clarissa Explains It All" with Melissa Joan Hart for some strange reason. I'm not that crazy about 'Ain't really Down' produced by A-Trak either, that production is quite bad and the track is almost as interesting as dishwater and 'Get Fresh' also falls into that category I'm afraid.

The best track of them 12, besides the slightly mellow 'Daydreaming' ft. Cee-Lo produced by Brian Kennedy and the current single 'Right Hand Hi' produced by the Swedish House Mafia, is the juke fest DJ Gant-Man hosts in 'Switch Board'. The track was featured earlier on the 'Pro Nails'-single but still today feels hot out the kitchen and if your not shaking your Coca-Cola shape with a onion in the back to that, well, I feel sorry for you.

The fact is that all old tracks like 'Control' & 'Pro Nails' still is crazy good. The only one that doesn't really steps up to the plate is the 2009 year version of 'Let Me Bang'. It sounded way fresher 2006 now it's a snoozer.

"Ultraviolet" is a bit late and a bit short. 12 tracks is 2-3 tracks too few for my taste but all and all a pretty decent debut. I just wish that since we already got tracks with years on their necks it wouldn't be a disaster if it also contained DJ Gant-Man's HUGE juke remix of 'Damn Girl' from the "Control" EP, Kid Sister's contribution to the Rebook Classic '09 Remix, her interpretation of the Jungle Brothers' old classic 'I'll House You' and the track I longed for most that sadly got cut, her's and Estelle's rework of Queen Latifah's 'Ladies First'.

If that was the case "Ultraviolet" would have deserved a 4 heart rating out of 5, now it only gets a solid 3 from me.

Buy "Ultraviolet" at Amazon.

Crookers ft. Kelis - 'No Security' (Off. Video) & Remixes

"Tons Of Friends" will be the title off the upcoming album by Crookers that will be released the 8th of March next year on Southern Fried Records. And one thing is for sure, that album will be massive in all possible ways. Love this new cross breeding turn people are taking and "Tons Of Friends" will feature anything and everyone from Kelis to the Very Best.

Even if March is kinda far away the countdown has begun and Crookers will give away a track each month to build up the hype (not that it's needed...) and another official single will be out in February called 'Remedy'.

Also love this new dub steppy direction Bot and Phra takes in 'No Security' with Kelis. The single will contain remixes from: Earl Black, Bart B More, Hot City Bass, Rustie and Zomby.

Let's also toss in some remixes that got sent to me a while back, first Sticky K's off their previous single 'Put Your hands On Me' ft. Kardinal Offishall & Carla-Marie and second the Black Noise remix of 'Business Man' ft. Wiley and Thomas Jules.

Here's finally the much anticipated link up Malice and Pusha T did with Rik Cordero for the video to Clipse ft. Cam'ron – 'Popular Demand (Popeye's)'.

Love it! Def triggered that chicken + French fries crave. My only question is, what ever happened to Cam'ron's sense of fash'on? Sure, he still colour coordinate but lumberjack shirts doesn't really cut it for me I'm afraid. #Anal #Shallow #MissThePinkKillaCam

Update: Three 6 Mafia's Third Single 'Feel It' (Off. Video)

Yeah, I wrote about this last Sunday but since the track never got tracked on Hypem and both the original and the official video emerged, here's the updated version of the previous post...

'Feel It' is the third official single from Three 6 Mafia's upcoming tenth studio album "Laws of Power" (now slated for a release January 26th and rumour has it that Gangsta Boo _will_ feature on it). 'Feel It' is quite the opposite to the first single 'Shake My' ft. Dirty Money-Kalenna that leaned more towards the rhythmic pop side and the second 'Lil Freak (Ugh Ugh Ugh)' ft. Webbie that had more of that typical Three 6 Mafia-sound to it.

'Feel It' features Tiësto, Flo'Rida and Sean Kingston and was also produced by Tiësto, hence the... sound. Yes people, Three 6 Mafia have also jumped on the electro-hop bandwagon and this time there's no doubt about it. I dunno, why? Why Tiësto of all people? Well, that Tiësto-track 'Bad Behaviour' from Dizzee's latest album has grown a bit on me but it feels a bit sordid if u put Dizzee's rap aside and I get the same feeling from 'Feel It'.

U know, it's that type of track u mercy dance to at the club but is it a full on banger for everyday life? I'm not that sure. That hard hitting bass annoys the hell outta me. However, the version by Pres, a DJ and producer from Burlington, VT, makes it less shitty, think I might like it better than the original to be frank.

Last, I've got one more wish besides Gangsta Boo on "Laws of Power", more nasty shit like 'Lil' Freak (Ugh Ugh Ugh)' and less Ibiza-glitz... Thank u.

Here's also the official video, directed by Rich Newey:

Lady GaGa "The Fame Monster" Samples & 'Video Phone' News

Yesterday small samples from Lady GaGa's upcoming "The Fame Monster" EP" emerged, then later Amazon provided 30-second clips of each song. Here's some clips of the songs that haven't been leaked yet:

Lady GaGa - 'Speechless' (prod. by Ron Fair)

Lady GaGa - 'So Happy I Could Die' (prod. by RedOne)

And finally there's some news about that extended remix video of Beyoncé's 'Video Phone' ft. GaGa directed by Hype Williams. It will be revealed globally on MTV Tuesday the 17th and this time we hope it's for real.

Judging by the video stills below, the video looks pretty dope:

Matt Shadetek & DJ /Rupture's Beautiful "Solar Life Raft"

Can't think of Matt Shadetek without hearing the 'Reign'-riddim he did with Zack in Team Shadetek some years ago for Skepta and Jammer in my head. That riddim is one of my fave instrumentals of all time, so simple, so beautiful. And the simplicity and beauty is still with Matt. This week his and DJ /Rupture's collaborative album "Solar Life Raft" featuring Jahdan Blakkamore, Gang Gang Dance, Mizz Beats to name a few was released on theAgriculture, an absolute stunning album that's kinda hard to define.
