Been doin' way too few posts regarding one of my fave producers in the game, mr. Semothy Jones, sooo it's about time to try to make amends as he sent over a bunch of goodies this morning.
Since the last time I've mentioned him he's been mad busy, he has dropped a track on Little Boots debut album "Hands" (track 10 - 'Tune Into My Heart'), did another remix for Lady Sovereign under the sudo name SOGGY FACE of 'So Human' (buy it here), been to Australia for two months to co-write on the new Operator Please album, linking up with new artists left an right an even though he plays the pop game now, he still manage to drop the off hood tracks such as this joint 'Darkside' from Frisco's current mixtape "Back 2 Da Lab Vol.3" (out now on Boy Better Know Records).
Yeah, I still don't like Frisco, or well, let's be fair, I don't like the way Frisco uses his voice. He sounds like he has a constant throat infection and a running nose and it seems like I can't get past that. But however, despite Frisco's nasal-thing I can honestly say I love Semothy's work on this.
That was then, Semothy is currently busy with working on a promo release that's gonna drop early 2010 with a lot of special UK features, the Professor Green album, they got a track called 'Just Be Good To Green', featuring none other than miss Lily Allen, on the way (live preview of that one here, listen to the track, even if I know, Lily Allen's dress is kinda distracting)). He also just dropped a track featuring GoldieLocks on the "Hardknock Wife Compilation" (which I've still haven't had time to review, I'm sorry Goldie) called 'Lil' Bit of Liquor'.
U thought I was done there? Haha nonono, last but not least, I still haven't posted Semothy and Sheldrake's (Andy Sheldrake of Examples band) official remix of Little Boots 'New In Town' and if u like that I can please u a bit more by saying that a new Semothy & Sheldrake-project is in the works that will have a lot of nice features on it.
Still not feel u had enough? Well, since I briefly touched Example, why not stuff in this ridiculously bass heavy dubstep remix by Wire that got sent to me some weeks ago of 'Watch The Sun Come Up'? It might do the trick.
